Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you
up. (James 4:10)
This is the one I esteem: He who is humble and
contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. (Isaiah 66:2)
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Luke 14:11)
He chose the lowly things of this world and the
despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are,
so that no one may boast before him. (I Corinthians 1:28-29)
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is
anything, but only God, who makes things grow. (1 Corinthians 3:7)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,
but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)
Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10)
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward
one another, because, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
(1 Peter 5:5)
For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as
Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
So you also, when you have done everything you
were told to do, should say, "We are unworthy servants; we have only done our
duty." (Luke 17:10)
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ
Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God
something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a
servant, being made in human likeness. (Philippians 2:5-7)
Humility and fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor
and life. (Proverbs 22:4)
You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes
are haughty. (Psalm 18:27)
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great
peace. (Psalm 37:11)
