Brothers, do
not slander one another. (James 4:11)
Do not go about spreading slander among your
people. (Leviticus 19:16) You shall not give false testimony against your
neighbor. (Exodus 20:16) Whoever spreads slander is a fool. (Proverbs
10:18) With his mouth the godless destroys his
neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape. (Proverbs 11:9) Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongue they speak deceit. (Psalm 5:9) Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks with
deceit. With his mouth each speaks cordially to his neighbor, but in his
heart he sets a trap for him. (Jeremiah 9:8) The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their
mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. (Romans 3:13-14) You speak continually against your brother and
slander your own mother's son. (Psalm 50:20) A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor,
but a man of understanding holds his tongue. (Proverbs 11:12) Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret, him
will I put to silence. (Psalm 101:5) Whoever would love life and see good days must
keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
For by your words you will
be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.
