Sell your
possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that
will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted,
where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
(Luke 12:33)
For where
your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
(Luke 12:34) Whatever was to
my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. (Philippians 3:7) I consider
everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ
Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them
rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him. (Philippians 3:8-9) I have learned
the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed
or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:12) Wealth is
worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers form death.
(Proverbs 11:4) Whoever trusts
in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green
leaf. (Proverbs 11:28) But you, man of
God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith,
love, endurance and gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:11) Better the
little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked; for the
power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord uphold the righteous.
(Psalm 37:16-17) Has not God
chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith
and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? (James 2:5) For you know the
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your
sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
(2 Corinthians 8:9) You will be made
rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and
through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (2
Corinthians 9:11) How much better
to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!
(Proverbs 16:16) And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. (Luke 12:29-30) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)
