SCRIPTURES ON ABORTION
The following scriptures on
abortion are from Dr. Campbell's new book:
For you created all things, and by your will they were
created and have their being.
The Lord God
formed the man from the dust of the ground
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and
man became a living being.
In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.
For in him we live and move and have our being.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the
secret place. When I was woven
together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my
unformed body. All the days ordained
for me were written in your book before one of them came
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
he created him; male and female he created them.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in
my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully
fully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full
Your hands shaped me and made me...You gave me life
and showed me kindness.
We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the
work of your hand.
Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of
house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were
conceived...I have made you and I will carry you; I will
sustain you and I will rescue you.
Did not he who made me in the womb make them?
Did not the same one form us both within our
This is what the Lord says--he
who made you, who
formed you in the womb.
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His
Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before
they came together, she was found to be with child
through the Holy Spirit.
While they were there, the time came for the baby
[Jesus] to be born, and she gave birth to her
first-born, a son.
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in
her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Mary, you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you
are to give him the name Jesus.
Or why was I not hidden in the ground like a stillborn
like an infant who never
saw the light of day?
As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you
were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a
prophet to the nations.
Before I was born theLord called
me; from my birth he has
made mention of my
name...And now the Lord says-he
who formed me in the womb to be his servant...
Jesus replied, "Do not murder."
Have nothing to do with a false charge, and do not put
innocent or honest person to death, for I will not
acquit the guilty.
You shall not murder.
There are six things the Lord hates...hands
shed innocent blood.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight.
Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the
eyes of him to whom we must give account.
From heaven the Lord
looks down and sees all mankind;
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on
earth-he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from
nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
that each one may receive what is due him for the things
done while in the body, whether good or bad.
(2 Corinthians 5:10)29
God demonstrates his love for us in this: While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us.
Everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of
sins through his name.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just and will forgive
us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:9)32
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ,
not counting men's sins against them.
(2 Corinthians 5:19)33
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he
removed our transgressions from us.
Their sins and lawless acts I will
remember no more.
My command is this: Love each
as I have loved you.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life.
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to
love one another.
(1 John 4:11)38
Love one another deeply, from the heart.
(1 Peter 1:22)39
So in everything, do to others what you would have
them do to you, for this sums up the
Law and the Prophets.
