LESSON #8
Christ, Who He is
Some people have never heard of Jesus Christ. Others believe that he was a prophet, but not God-and that He never claimed to be God. Let's listen to Jesus in His own words as He tells us who He is. These are either the outrageous claims of someone who is mentally ill, or these are the claims of the God of the universe. You must decide.
I am the First and the Last.
(Revelation 1:17)
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God,
"who is, and who was, and who
is to come, the Almighty."
(Revelation 1:8)
Before Abraham was born,
I am!
(John 8:58)
I and the Father are one.
(John 10:30)
I am God's Son.
(John 10:36)
I am in my Father, and you are in me,
and I am in you.
(John 14:20)
I am from him and he sent me.
(John 7:29)
For I came from God and now am here.
(John 8:42)
I am the Root and the Offspring of David,
and the bright Morning Star.
(Revelation 22:16)
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me
will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.
(John 8:12)
I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will never go hungry,
and he who believes in me
will never be thirsty.
(John 6:35)
I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.
(John 6:51)
I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd
lays down his life
for the sheep.
(John 10:11)
I am the gate;
whoever enters through me
will be saved.
(John 10:9)
I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father
except through me.
(John 14:6)
I am among you as one who serves.
(Luke 22:27)
I am not here on my own, but he who sent me is true.
You do not know him, but I know him because
I am from him and he sent me.
(John 7:28-29)
You are from below; I am from above.
You are of this world;
I am not of this world.
(John 8:23)
I am the Living One; I was dead,
and behold I am alive
for ever and ever!
And I hold the keys
of death and Hades.
(Revelation 1:18)
I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes in me
will never die.
(John 11:25-26)
